Tips
- Eaton's Roofing Regulations handout requires Class 4 impact-resistant asphalt shingles (UL2218-tested) as a local amendment to IRC R905.2.4 — this is a stricter-than-baseline-IRC requirement, confirm your shingle product meets this standard before purchasing materials.
- Schedule inspections at least 24 hours in advance by calling 970-305-3161 ext. 1 (SAFEbuilt); clean up all debris and clear gutters before calling for final inspection.
- Re-roofs replacing less than 1 square (100 sq ft) of shingles do not require a permit at all — confirm your project's exact scope before assuming a permit is needed.
