Plumbing Permit in Gilcrest, Colorado
Required for installation, alteration, or repair of plumbing systems in Gilcrest. The Town runs its own local plumbing permitting program (via SAFEbuilt) rather than deferring to a State of Colorado plumbing board; contractors must hold an active Colorado DORA plumbing/contractor license, contemporaneously verified by the Town per its Plumber License Contemporaneous Review Guidelines (rev. 10/28/20, implementing C.R.S. 12-155-120(1) and HB19-1086).

When you need this permit
- Plumbing work must be performed by, or under the supervision of, a licensed plumber listed on the permit application by name and Colorado DORA license number Contractor
- The Town (or SAFEbuilt on its behalf) verifies the listed plumber's active DORA plumbing/contractor license via the online License Lookup before the application is processed; an unlisted or unverified plumber will halt processing until resolved Contractor
- If the plumber performing/overseeing the work changes during construction, the applicant must notify the Town of the new plumber's name/license number for re-verification; work may be ordered stopped if the new plumber's license cannot be verified
- At time of a relevant inspection, the building inspector may request to verify the plumber's identity and may fail the inspection at their discretion if identity/licensing cannot be confirmed

Tips
- Gilcrest runs its OWN plumbing permitting program (through SAFEbuilt) — it does NOT defer plumbing permits to a state plumbing board. Have your plumber's Colorado DORA license number ready at application; the Town verifies it online before processing.
- No standalone plumbing fee table distinct from the general Building Permit valuation schedule was found in any Town-published document — plumbing work is billed under the same 1997 UBC Table 1A-based schedule as building/other trades.
