Sign Permit (Permanent Sign) in Saratoga Springs, Utah
Permanent signs in Saratoga Springs require a two-step process: a Planning Department sign review under Land Development Code Chapter 19.18 and § 19.11.05(4), followed by a separate Building Permit application once Planning approval is issued. Fabrication must not begin until Planning approval is received, and building permit fees increase if a sign is installed before the building permit is obtained.

Tips
- Do not begin fabrication of the sign(s) until Planning approval is received — a separate Building Permit application is then required, and building permit fees increase if the sign is installed before that permit is obtained.
- The $300 (first sign) + $50 (each additional sign) review fee includes 2 reviews; a Comment Review Meeting (CRM) can be requested after comments are sent, and additional reviews beyond the included 2 cost $150 each.
- If the sign is illuminated, lamp color is capped at 4000K and illumination is only allowed during business hours plus up to 30 minutes after close.
- Signs may not be located in the clear view triangle described in LDC § 19.06.11.
- Submit through the CityWorks Public Portal (cityworks.saratogasprings-ut.gov/publicaccess), choosing the 'Sign Permits' category and the correct application type.
