Tips
- As of this review, the Town of Clarkdale does not publish a specific plan-review turnaround time for residential additions, remodels, or accessory structures. No A.R.S. § 9-835 time-frame document was located after an exhaustive search. Call Community Development at 928-639-2500 for a current estimate.
- The small-accessory-structure exemption is narrow: 50 sq ft and 12 ft height maximum, at grade — this is smaller than the 200 sq ft exemption used by some other Arizona municipalities, so many sheds/casitas in Clarkdale will require a permit even though similar structures might be exempt elsewhere.
- A separate 'Building - Residential Accessory Structure-Remodel-Addition Building Checklist' and 'Building - Commercial - Accessory Structure - Checklist' are referenced on the Town's Forms page (effective 01.01.26) but could not be downloaded during this review (the Town's document-hosting CDN returned 404 for these specific newer document IDs despite the page listing them as live) — treat this as a confirmed access gap; the underlying Town Code exemption and fee-methodology text above was independently verified from the adopted ordinance PDFs.
