Page Code of Ordinances § 92.04(A) requires an automatic sprinkler system throughout all buildings 4,000 square feet or greater in total area, and states that fire resistant walls and barriers do not define separate buildings for this purpose. Section 92.04(B) extends this to additions: an addition to any existing non-sprinklered building or structure which expands the total area to 4,000 square feet or greater must contain an automatic sprinkler system. Section 92.04(C) then prohibits partial sprinklering — if any fire area in a building is provided with sprinklers, whether required or not, all fire areas must be, except for special hazard areas approved by the Fire Chief. These amendments were adopted by Ord. 548-09 and amended by Ord. 666-19, passed 12-11-2019.
