Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System Permit in Basalt, Colorado
Required for installation of photovoltaic solar systems in Basalt. Uniquely among Basalt's permit types, this one requires BOTH a Town of Basalt Building Department PV permit application AND separate approval from the Colorado State Electrical Board (for DC/AC wiring) AND the Roaring Fork Fire Authority, per the Town's own Photovoltaic Solar System Application Guidelines.

Tips
- A Basalt PV installation genuinely requires THREE separate approvals running in parallel: the Town of Basalt's own Building PV Permit, the Colorado State Electrical Board's electrical permit for DC/AC wiring, and a Roaring Fork Fire Authority permit — budget for coordinating all three, not just the Town's own process.
- Submit either the Basalt PV Generation Calculator Sheet or the Basalt REMP Calculation Sheet at application — which one you need depends on whether your project is also subject to New Construction / Exterior Energy Use fees under the Sustainable Building Regulations.
