Tips
- Berthoud requires Class 4 impact-resistant shingles on essentially all re-roofs, and the 50%-repair trigger for whole-roof Class-4 replacement is stricter than many peer jurisdictions — get your roofer to confirm which threshold your project falls under before signing a contract.
- Homeowners may self-perform a re-roof in Berthoud (per the Town's own Re-Roof FAQ), but a secured ladder must still be provided for every required inspection, and all existing roofing layers must come off down to the deck. Owner-builder
- Remote Video Inspections (RVI) are available for re-roof final inspections and can be scheduled directly through the CommunityCore portal as an alternative to an in-person visit.
