Tips

  • Frisco's own Building Division was dissolved in August 2024 — all plan review and permit administration now runs through Comprehensive Building Code Services, LLC (CBCS), a third-party contractor, not town staff directly. Direct building-permit questions to CBCS's Kara Fine (303-910-2966) rather than assuming a town employee handles it.
  • Electrical permits for your project are NOT part of the Town's building permit — they must be obtained separately from Summit County Building Inspection Division, whose office happens to be physically located inside Frisco (County Commons, 0037 Peak One Drive) despite being a county, not town, department.
  • New residential construction must meet the DOE Zero Energy Ready Home Program standard under the Summit Sustainable Building Code (Ordinance 20-04) — budget for this above-code energy compliance early in design, not as an afterthought.
  • CBCS's published 6-business-day figure is for FIRST comments only, not a full-approval guarantee — build in time for at least one revision/resubmittal cycle on larger residential projects.
