Applies to: Commercial Building Permit (New Construction / Additions)

    Footing/Foundation

    Before concrete pour; commercial projects may optionally start under a standalone $2,000 Footing/Foundation Permit ahead of full permit issuance

  2. 2

    Framing/Structural

    Structural framing complete before cover, per approved stamped plans

  3. 3

    Rough Electrical/Plumbing/Mechanical

    Trade rough-ins before concealment; complex electrical/mechanical systems may additionally require a registered design professional's observation per Ordinance 1029 Sections 1704.7/1704.8

  4. 4

    Fire District Inspections

    Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District performs its own inspections under its separate submittal/approval

  5. 5

    Final Inspection / Certificate of Occupancy

    All work complete per approved plans; performed by SAFEbuilt Colorado under contract to the Town. A Temporary CO is available for $750 ($400 refundable if the final CO issues before TCO expiration)

    Devices installed, panel labeled, system energized; performed by SAFEbuilt Colorado

Applies to: Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm System Permit

    Fire District Plan Review

    FFFPD reviews stamped Civil/Architectural/MEP drawings and fire safety system shop drawings under the currently adopted International Fire Code and NFPA Standards; accepted drawings are stamped and returned, and must be printed and kept on-site during construction

    Final Inspection

    On-site inspection of the installed fire alarm/sprinkler system by FFFPD; failed inspections are billed at the $100.00/hour rate, two-hour minimum

    Equipment installation and ductwork before concealment

    Final Inspection

    Equipment operational; combustion air and venting verified; performed by SAFEbuilt Colorado

    Before concealment — pipe slope, materials, cleanouts

    Mid-Roof Inspection

    Required when no more than 25% of the roof is complete; verifies ice & water shield installed 24 inches inside the exterior wall line, drip edge fastened at minimum 12-inch on-center with proper overlap, and underlayment sequencing at eaves/rakes

    Final Roof Inspection

    Completed roof covering verified against approved plans and applicable code; performed by SAFEbuilt Colorado
