Tips
- Greenleaf contracts its Building Official function to Idaho Building Inspection Services, Inc. (named contact: Steve Pierson per the city's Building Requirements sheet) rather than employing in-house building staff.
- The applicant contacts the City Building Official directly to request/schedule inspections — the city clerk does not schedule inspections.
- Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC/mechanical permits and inspections are NOT issued by the City of Greenleaf — apply directly through the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (dbs.idaho.gov).
- Re-roofing, window replacement, and siding replacement all require a Greenleaf building permit, even though they may not require IDAPA trade permits.
- The $50 application fee is credited toward the final building permit fee once the Building Official calculates valuation — it is not an extra charge.
- For manufactured/modular homes, tiny houses, and RVs, see the DOPL classification brochure referenced in the city's Building Permit Information memo.
- Structural design assumptions (20 psf snow load, 90 mph wind, Seismic Zone B, 24-inch frost depth, 1,500 psf allowable soil bearing) apply citywide and should inform structural plan submittals.
