Published scheduling rules

  • Inspections are scheduled by calling the Inspection Hotline (307-733-0520 ext. 1351), NOT through the SmartGov portal, even if the permit itself was obtained there. (One and Two Family Building Permit)
  • Electrical permit required before EV charger/EVSE installation begins; no inspection can be scheduled without a permit (Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger / EVSE Permit)

    Before concrete pour — footings below the 34-inch frost line or as specified by the soils engineer of record

    Conducted by Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Electrical Division; required combination Rough Gas/Rough Plumbing/Rough Mechanical/Framing inspections can only be scheduled after a passed Rough Electrical inspection

    Scheduled together after Rough Electrical passes

    Final / Certificate of Occupancy

    All departments (Building, Engineering, Fire/Electrical, Planning) must sign off on the Permit/Inspection Card before a Certificate of Occupancy or Completion is issued

    Final — Acceptance Test

    Hydrostatic test (sprinkler systems) or functional alarm test witnessed by Jackson Hole Fire/EMS before the system is placed in service
