    Trade rough-ins before concealment

    Final Inspection

    All work complete per approved plans and applicable codes

Applies to: Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Permit

    Standard residential construction inspection sequence, as applicable to the ADU's scope (new detached structure vs. conversion of existing space)

    ADU Certification of Exception Inspection

    A distinct, separately fee'd inspection type per the 2026 Fee Schedule; the specific compliance standard it certifies against was not located in the publicly posted materials reviewed

    Final Inspection

    All work complete per approved plans

    Fire District Plan Review

    Mountain View Fire Rescue's Life Safety Division reviews fire protection, sprinkler and alarm plans under the 2024 International Fire Code; the District's own form states a minimum of 10 business days is required for this review.

    Final Inspection / Fire Alarm Test

    On-site final inspection; all Fire Alarm Test Reports must be on site for Final Approval per the District's Application for Plan Review form
