Electrical Permit in Nunn, Colorado
Required for electrical system installation, alteration, or repair in Nunn. The Town does NOT run its own certified electrical licensing/permitting program — it defers to the Colorado State Electrical Board (DORA) for tradesperson licensure, with contemporaneous license verification performed by the Town per C.R.S. 12-115-120(1)/(10) as amended by HB19-1086, applicable to all SAFEbuilt inspections since December 1, 2019.

When you need this permit
- Electrical-only permit applications must list the electrician's Colorado DORA state electrical license number
- The Town verifies the listed electrician's license is active via the Colorado DORA online license lookup before accepting the application; an unverifiable license results in rejection
- If the electrician performing/overseeing the work changes before final inspection, the Town must be notified and will re-verify the new electrician's license before work may continue
- SAFEbuilt inspectors may, at their discretion, verify electrician identity at any inspection (not only rough/final) and may fail an inspection if unverifiable
- Codified governing standard is the National Electrical Code, 2002 edition (NMC 15.04.040); note SAFEbuilt's own current Photovoltaic System Submittal Requirements handout instead cites the 2020 NEC as the applicable current code — this discrepancy between the codified text and the contracted reviewer's operational reference is unresolved as of this verification

Tips
- Confirm your electrician's Colorado DORA license is active BEFORE submitting — the Town rejects applications where the license cannot be verified online, and will halt work if a mid-project electrician change isn't re-verified.
- Nunn has no local electrical licensing/registration program of its own — the sole licensing authority relevant here is the Colorado State Electrical Board (DORA), not a town-issued contractor license. Contractor
