When you need this permit
- Submit online at devservices.peoriaaz.gov with a completed 400S – Solar Permit Application (Handout 400S) and one (1) set of plans with all supporting documentation
- Installer must visually inspect trusses for pre-existing damage; if damage is noted, a structural engineer's repair design must be submitted with the application
- Provide roof plans showing location of PV installation; structural engineering analysis is required if panels exceed 5 lbs./sq ft or 40 lbs. point load, or if trusses are constructed with less than 2x4 dimensional lumber
- Provide cut sheets and mounting details for racks per roof covering type, including point-of-attachment locations and loads
- Provide electrical one-line or three-line diagram (showing phases, neutral, and ground); ungrounded systems must note 'Ungrounded' on plans
- Provide cut sheet and listing for inverter (DC to AC); inverters must be UL listed 1741 per 2018 IRC Section R324.3.1
- PV panels/modules must be UL listed 1703 per 2018 IRC Section R902.4
- Arc-Fault Circuit Protection (DC) required per 2017 NEC Article 690.11; Rapid Shutdown required per 2017 NEC Article 690.12
