Tips

  • All inspections are scheduled through the www.mygovernmentonline.org applicant portal — request inspections up to three days in advance if a specific date/time is preferred, per Mapleton's official Building Inspection Summary page.
  • Mapleton's Building Division is open Mon–Thu 8:00 AM–5:30 PM and Fri 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
  • A restroom facility (site toilet) must be present on site at the time of the Setback/Footings inspection.
  • Failure to be ready at a scheduled inspection triggers a $55 re-inspection fee, payable at the City Office (cash, card, or check) before further inspections resume.
  • Effective March 1, 2024, only fire-restrictive drywall inspections are required under Utah HB64 — general drywall inspections were eliminated statewide.
  • Mapleton has no distinct EV charger / EVSE permit type or fee: a full-text check of Mapleton's Community Development Fee Schedule (mapleton.org/Fee%20Schedule.pdf, PDF fetched and searched directly 2026-07-20) found zero mentions of 'EV,' 'electric vehicle,' 'charging station,' or 'EVSE,' and no standalone electrical-trade permit line item — the schedule lists only a general 'Building Permit Major' (valuation-based, IBC + .005 multiplier) line for building-related work. A residential EV charger install is expected to route through this same Building Permit fee as standard electrical work; confirm directly with the Building Division before applying.
