EV Charger / EVSE Permit in South Salt Lake, Utah
South Salt Lake does not publish a distinct EV-charger/EVSE fee category. Installing electric vehicle charging equipment (EVSE) is electrical work and is processed through the same over-the-counter trade-permit path as other residential or commercial electrical work, billed under the applicable flat fee in the Consolidated Fee Schedule's electrical-service line items (for example Electrical Service Inside Upgrade, or Electrical Service Upgrade 200A or less) rather than a standalone EV-specific charge. Per the electrical-mechanical-plumbing-permit entry, EV charger/EVSE installation falls under this same trade-permit process, and the Consolidated Fee Schedule carries no distinct EV-charger line item.

Tips
- South Salt Lake has no separate EV-charger fee category — file EV/EVSE installations as an electrical over-the-counter trade permit, billed at the applicable flat fee (e.g. $50.00 for an electrical service upgrade).
- If the installation requires a new or upgraded electrical service/panel, the same $50.00 Electrical Service Upgrade flat fee applies as for any other service change.
- Coordinate with the Building Permits Division at (801) 483-6063 ext. 2 if the scope is unclear, since South Salt Lake does not publish EV-specific guidance.
