Tips

  • The FY 2026-2027 fee schedule (effective July 1, 2026) deleted the former electrical issuance fee and per-item Unit/System Fee Schedule entirely: minor electrical work under $500 valuation is now a flat $70.00 Minimal Permit ($92.50 combined with other trades under $1,000 valuation), and larger jobs are billed on the general valuation-based permit fee table.
  • Electrical services of 400 amps or larger still require plans sealed by an Arizona-registered engineer per the City's Minimal Electrical Only Permit Checklist; the former dedicated $100 plan review line for 400-amp-plus services was removed from the FY 2026-2027 fee schedule along with the rest of the electrical unit-fee schedule.
  • Minimal/single-trade electrical permits are classified under the City's general 'Residential' A.R.S. § 9-835 timeframe (25 administrative + 65 substantive staff review days) absent a published faster single-trade track; simple over-the-counter items are typically issued much faster once administrative completeness clears.
